Writing a book: working with the middle of a novel

Mistakes that await novice writers in the middle of a book:

1. "Water."

Or rather, not even "water," but a sea of water. Which stems from the fact that the author does not know what to write about. Therefore, fills the void with long and uninformative dialogues "about nothing", events without meaning, long descriptions, reasoning. And the worst and most unjustified "water" - is the change of the first person and the desire to show the same scene from two or three angles, on behalf of different actors. And in fifty pages there is not a single new action, pay someone to write a paper only repetitive, one-type dialogues.

Colleagues, if someone uses this method, it is better to write "relay" - bring the scene to a peak, pass the "stick" from the first "I" (heroine) to the second "I" (hero) - and continue developing the scene, giving a small emotional introduction in the beginning and justifying (!) the switch from one person to another, showing the degree of importance.

And, of course, don't pour "water" - a lot of empty events will dissolve important thoughts and actions. And if you pour - if you can't think of anything else - be prepared to essay editing service go back to them and add to them, put in a plot event (I sometimes do, yes).

2. Loss of orientation.

A very common phenomenon (I suffer from it too) - forgetting what I wrote about in the beginning. Forgot to connect the important events from the beginning with those that happened in the middle. And it turns out that the beginning exists by itself, and the middle - by itself. But it's not enough to kick the hero out of the house in search of adventure in the beginning, in the middle you need to justify why and what for, what he will gain by leaving and what he will lose in comparison to his past life, how leaving home will change him, how in the end he will find his way back and why, what is there of value (or - conversely, nothing, broke his chains, squared his shoulders - changed in comparison to what he was).

How to reduce the length of a novel

Since all my stories mutate, I write a backward outline so I don't forget the initial events. I write a couple of chapters - I make an outline for each one, with events, phenomena, hero's goals and pivotal thoughts. It helps a lot not to get lost in the "middle ground". A list of key events is always at hand, and I look at it, linking old events and new ones.
